I painted one of these before, but it was obvious the adult carrying their inner child was a woman. I had some men approach me asking if I could do one with a man carrying their inner child. 

So I did. But I made the adult look as though they could be male or female. 

In any case, isn't that what healthy growth is? Carrying our inner child, our traumatized pasts, safely into the future. To not let that part of ourselves remain silent or neglected or die.

Wholistic healing means integrating all that is ourselves, including our childhoods, into our present authentic selves.
