Women and the Work of the Gospel

I can hear some men saying, “The women do the work of the gospel when they fulfill their role in the church and family and support the men!”

Many years ago when I was a local pastor, there was a point where I got frustrated because we were always dealing with internal problems that I thought were preventing us from getting on with the more important work.

Then one day the light went on and I realized that learning how to love one another was the work. I relaxed after that.

The rise of women’s voices expressing their struggle to be equal with equal opportunity is the work.

Let’s get to it!

  2. Hey David. Appreciate you! Had opportunity to provide a perspective on your “woman at the resurrection” cartoon on a friend’s FB in Brazil — interesting to see how mystified people were by it….on today’s cartoon I would say that I hope we can get beyond the conversation of “what women want” to asking a better question “what might Creator want.” My question is the latter, not the former. 3. Hey! When my friend in Brazil posted it and translated the caption there were a bunch of responses asking him to explain what the cartoon was trying to say. So far off their grid they could not even go there…..about the women’s/Creator’s will question: On a good day, in a good moment, yes, deep synergy….however…..the rhythm of Creation and intentions of Creator are central to reality — I get to enter into who Creator is and what Creator is about…..sometimes we get that inside out. Human-centredness =death.
