I think this concept is important. The older concept, that the ‘good believer’ is only a follower, and supports the pastor at every turn, simply created non-thinking folks. And in my experience, created an institution of 90% followers, and 9.9% internal contributors…. and less than 1% of people interacting with the community.

I hope that believers once again become a body of Christ (the lion), and intersect when needed with the church institution (the lamb). Thus, by maintaining a sense of two overlapping circles, they will not abandon the world and become only an inward-facing political branch that just happens to worship Jesus a bit on Sunday.
