He dropped the ball.

And church leaders wonder why they are losing people.

Like that’ll happen. Fundamentalists are sycophantic if nothing else.

By the way: Happy Birthday, David! I missed it the other day.

My wife and I looked up every verse in Proverbs concerning “a fool”, and were quickly persuaded that Donald Trump fit that description.

And after that, I thought about the Biblical admonition: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Proverbs 29

The willingness of Jerry Falwell to ‘cut a deal with the devil’ in hopes that the devil will deliver a conservative supreme court justice, well, that is an amazing abandonment of all the values that a Christian University should hold dear. He has indeed dropped the ball.

And Jerry’s views, and down-talking about his students, show that Jerry is not thinking objectively… but has tied his integrity to follow ‘the fool’, rather than abandon ‘the fool’ for Christian values.

Jerry should have urged his students to make a list of all Christian moral values, and rank Clinton vs Trump. This would have been the greatest lesson of Liberty University – we study each candidate according to our values, and change parties as needed.

But then again, the Evangelical conservatives set sail upon the Republican Party, and urged their many children to obey, and not to think…. and to never abandon ship.

The ship did ok in sailing the political American Seas… but has now hit an iceberg named ‘Trump’. The GOP is sinking in ice water.

Even life-time Republicans are abandoning the ship now.

The younger Evangelical Conservatives will hopefully abandon ship.

And I hope that they will vote ‘Democrat’ in order to send a message that they are not owned by the Republican Party, but owned by Christ and the Christian Values taught in the New Testament.

And one day, should the Democratic Candidate fail the simple test described above, then abandon ship, and vote for the other party.

Be owned by Christ, and Christian Values. It is that simple.

  3. yes the evangelical movement sold its soul. it’s obvious now. even to them. but they must do this for what is “right” to them!

Although not discussed by corporate media, US-Russian relations apparently approach a point of crisis.

Last month, a leading strategic think tank, the Atlantic Council, published a document, the Future of the Army [ http://tinyurl.com/zfs99cx ] describing advanced preparations for major wars between great powers. It calls on the military to ‘prepare for the next big war’ with contingencies to ‘control large areas and populations’ including urban operations.

None who follow military and strategic studies are surprised. Parallel to decades of erosion of the post-WWII system of world order of alliances/relations has been the drive to the next, Great War.

This almost surfaced in the recent Clinton/Trump ‘debate.’ Our ‘leaders’ blithely ply domestic audiences with totally unsupported and scurrilous accusations of Russian war crimes, and brag of standing up to Russia. Not reported by our corporate media is that very sober and distinguished people such as Sergei Lavrov and Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov are quietly tell their US counterparts in carefully weighed words that it behooves them to consider well the full import of their actions.

After the 2016 US election, I expect a vast expansion of militarism in the Middle East and Pacific aimed at Russia, China, or both. I expect that ‘Christian’ ‘leaders’ and pastors across the US will be astounded by Russia’s ‘behavior’ [or whatever words are used], as the US military implements a ‘defensive’ war for ‘justice’ that it has been preparing for decades.

By far, the greatest costs of war are born by youth [think students] and the working class. As the drums for war become deafening, I hope students at Liberty and in schools across the land, and working people in churches and work places will rise up and repudiate the policies of War, Famine, Pestilence and Death. Wherever the policies of antichrist are revealed, they should be exposed for what they are.

What I find with this election is the division it is causing. Division!!! We as citizens of United States of America have a right to vote for the candidate we choose. What I’m most disturbed about is the ‘How can Christians vote for Hillary’ or ‘How can Christians vote for Trump’. Is your Christianity based on politics? Why are we acting like Pharisees and not Disciples. I believe God is in control, He is able to work in all situations including politics.
