“But because I am as yet weak in love, and imperfect in virtue, I have need to be strengthened and comforted by Thee; visit me therefore often, and instruct me with all holy discipline. Set me free from evil passions and heal my heart of all inordinate affections; that being inwardly healed and thorough cleansed, I may be made ready to love, strong to suffer, steady to persevere.” Tom Kempis All I need–wretch like me.

How long did it take you to write them all David? And how many are there? Actually, maybe you could use this as a variation on the ‘how many sweets in a jar’ game – give the person 10 seconds to look and then they have estimate 😀

  25. Ruth says:

  31. Noelle says:

    Hi 🙂

  32. sam scoville says:

Doug: a former student just published a book of poems entitled: It’s Not the Truth if If Doesn’t Hurt. From what I can tell (generalizing, maybe overstating) most of the respondents on NP’s threads are already compassionate, loving, righteous…good and decent folk; and so we’re already drawn in and not in need. And, of course, no one like to hurt, either.

  33. Love the study print.

  34. Anne K says:

  40. LouiseM says:

Intentional or not, I enjoy the contrast between the tidy order of the books on the bottom shelf with tilted books and tipped shelves (revealing a Z pattern) above.

I also appreciate the paradox of needles on the trees and leaves in the books as Sophia sits surrounded by dead and living branches.

  41. Mary Teasley says:

    LOVE them both!

  42. Lori says:

    Love ’em all!

  43. Anita says:
