I have an observation: the preachers, which abound, who continually assert that a large percentage of Jesus’ teachings were about money, react when there’s any criticism directed toward the love of money and the pursuit of it. Hmm.
Hmmm…many times the topic of money…presented as a critique….has more to do with the critics lack of money….not so much on the other persons having money.
I preach and teach on stewardship and tithing and make no apology for it. Do I draw a salary from the church…yes. It is moderate compared the average in the congregation. There are many who lack money because of mismanagement – yet it comes across as a spiritual badge of honour. Perhaps – it is bad stewardship.
All you critics and pastors – who keep sucking on the same boob with this topic – take your step of faith and stop your salary from the church. Go on alms! No more talk – take action while the iron is hot.
