    Sadly, I got it.

    The generation that “left” church for awhile now has kids. If we can design really hip, cool places for kids to hang out, word will get around. Then the “kids” who left church when they grew up might bring their kids back to church because it’s a fun place to be with good values.

    Bingo!! Church attendance goes up!

    Of course, Christ didn’t have these motivations; but Christians–literally translated little Christs–sometimes do. Sometimes I think that we aren’t even fully aware of how the world (and its marketing schemes) has seeped into our thinking.

    I love that your cartoons really cause us to think about our motivations! Thanks for keeping it real.
