Still so very true – even in the emergent church movement of which I am quite fond. VERY true in academia still.
I do know a good many UCC, UMC, and PC(USA) pastors. Seminary these days seems to be more female than male – wonder how many of these graduate to find a placement in a congregation?
In Scotland, too, female churchgoers vastly outnumber male churchgoers. I’ve often wondered whether that is true the world over? Do you know? Are African/Indian/Chinese/South American churches attended by more females than males?
Also, do you think that denominations with only male clergy have different male/female proportions than denominations with male and female clergy? It’s not apparent in Scotland but I have no statistics to base that on.
On a less serious note, I remember a comedian saying that if there had been women ministers for the last two thousand years instead of just recently, churches would look very different – they would have more in the way of curtains and cushions!
So not my world it took me a while to get this one!
Ouch! That’s great!
Is this what the bathrooms at Mark Driscoll’s church are like?

I think what most men find a sermon good for is background for a nap.
One of the benefits of being an ordained woman is that there is never a line up for the washroom at our clergy gatherings
Jasmine: HAHA! Awesome!!
Jasmine…so right!
So not my world, either. Took me a while to get it, too.
I like this one, make a shirt with those doors on both sides of white shirt…it is pretty funny and poignant!
Very clever – like it.
