Pity. Those guys in 2 different canoes could be a powerhouse. One of them could collect the folks upstream, the other could do wonders for the folks downstream. And each of them could appreciate the work that the other is doing.
But force them to sit in the same canoe, and you get mutual paralysis.
I was part of an ecumenical endeavor between Jews and Muslims that was absolutely phenomenol! It pretty much changed me forever. I was the only Christian in the bunch because my Jewish friends snuck me in. I’m fairly convinced that had more Christians been there, it wouldn’t have been so… ecumenical.
