The snake is a symbol of both death and transformation as well as healing. People think it’s died, when really it’s just shed it’s old skin.

I think self-acceptance rather than dying to self helps us focus on others more and more and receive the joy that comes with that. I think we have to be happy with who we are and love our self FIRST. Acting like we don’t matter doesn’t work. Ofcourse we matter. We love ourself. We then are free to love others vs. wrestling to keep ourself under a thumb.

Hi Dave, God didn’t choose it, we chose it.
Really enjoyed meeting you at the opening in St John’s. if you come to Oregon, you gotta stop in Bend.

The mystics say that until we lose our fear of death and our attatchement to this earth, we can’t be one with God. Tall order! And I wonder…are we afraid of death or just the process of dying?

If the metaphorical doorway was available before death, it would be falsifiable.

Don, who is this metaphorical we? I certainly did not choose death. I can’t think of any point in my life where I ever had the choice to not die and did not take it and humanity as a whole does not make decisions, individuals do. At best, they(Adam and Eve) chose it for me.

David – seemingly God’s ultimate paradox isn’t it?
