This painting is a watercolor I did a while ago. “Three Birch” measures 20″x20″ (approx. 50cm x 50cm). It is a painting of three old birch trees out at a friend’s house in the country. One night the moon was shining brightly through the branches. I captured a photo on my cell-phone and painted it soon after. I love trees and have a special attachment to them. It is not rational. I’m sad because we were just out there a couple of weeks ago and one of the trees has died and will need to be cut down. It is not too much of a surprise because he, a forester, says birch are basically “weed trees”. Their life span is shorter than other trees. But they are beautiful and are often the subject of my paintings.

The problem is neither predjuge, opinions, preferance, theology, reliogion, religious institutions nor one’s concept of God is that clearcut-Almost all of them both separates and unites!
