Actually there were some chicks who never chickened out at – so the number never quit hit zero if you include them into the equation. But who counts property as people other than Jesus? (big grin)

    Matthew 27:55-56, Mark 15:40-41, Luke 23:49, John 19:25

I like this. It took me a minute to notice the dates. I guess the only thing I’d like to see added is the massive rebuilding at Pentecost.

Mirrors the overall trend in the US…where we have obviously outgrown our need for God’s Kingdom.

Jesus’ call does have a way of shaking out of the weeds the ‘would-be’s’ and ‘hanger-oner’s.’ “Narrow is the gate.”

Those headcounts again… This is the difference between the visible and invisible church. Well, one of them.

    I agree about Pentecost.

Also – the visible church can fluctuate, but the invisible church only grows, even if it’s only one person at a time. Or if you take into account predestination, the number’s always fixed.

this cartoon may be encouraging, actually. Thanks.

I guess we can’t apply the “WWJD” principle to church growth………..what a great cartoon!

That’s what happens when you take away the new wine, fish sandwiches and entertainment…and tell people to pick up a cross.
