Yet, it’s such a joyful experience when His face smiles on you again. What a gift it is, that God is with us at all. All it takes is repentance and trust, which is so hard sometimes, but simple at least.
Am saying, when it comes to images that are drawn or like this, you can get a nicer, crispy image by saving it as PNG than as JPEG. Then it wouldn’t look “grainy.”
Zefi might be multi-tasking…I’ve learned that lesson on online dating sites…lol
Hmm, I always assumed it was a straight photo of an actual phone? What do I know. Only that He’s never gone. Trust the fact not the feeling – cheesy and I apologise for that, but it is true.
actually zefi, it’s my iphone. it takes a picture of its own image on the screen and i just transfer it to my computer. i suppose i could convert it. it doesn’t look grainy on my screen…
In order for God to be loved by us, He must remain hidden. He is hidden. No one can see God and live.
If He took His finger and wrote in the sky (so it could be seen from anywhere on earth, “I am God…obey me…love me.” We would obey Him alright but we wouln’t love Him…we’d fear Him. We’d be scared to death of Him.
He wull not reveal Himself other than how He has already chosen to reveal Himself…in a man (Jesus) in bread and wine and water and His Word…that’s it…that’s all we’re going to get…and it ought to be enough. For those with faith, it is enough. For those without faith…it will never be enough.
“it ought to be enough” that can only be said by someone that thinks it is enough.
Also, hiding yourself is an odd way of showing someone how much you love them. Imagine if that’s what our earthly parents did….I’m not sure I can buy into that.
Steve – wow, you seem to be limiting God in a way he doesn’t limit himself. He isn’t constrained in any way – between himself as Father, Jesus as saviour, Lord, Word etc etc and the Holy Spirit, thats a pretty wide specrum.
Steve,
God is hidden in the same way the wind is hidden and as far as obeying Him if he took His finger and wrote in the sky; that sounds similar to a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night and they(we) didn’t obey.
“Why would He want to be hidden? What’s the point of that?
Seriously….”
Although some theologies have difficulty with a God who hides(it’s all so anthropomorphic thru and thru),it’s a common theme in many mystical traditions
From Wikipedia…”Dark Night of The soul”
The “dark night” might clinically or secularly be described as the letting go of one’s ego as it holds back the psyche, thus making room for some form of transformation, perhaps in one’s way of defining oneself or one’s relationship to God. This interim period can be frightening, hence the perceived “darkness.”
In the Christian tradition, one who has developed a strong prayer life and consistent devotion to God suddenly finds traditional prayer extremely difficult and unrewarding for an extended period of time during this “dark night.” The individual may feel as though God has suddenly abandoned them or that his or her prayer life has collapsed. In the most pronounced cases, belief is lost in the very existence of God and/or validity of religion, rendering the individual an atheist, even if they bravely continue with the outward expressions of faith.
Rather than resulting in devastation, however, the dark night is perceived by mystics and others to be a blessing in disguise, whereby the individual is stripped (in the dark night of the senses) of the spiritual ecstacy associated with acts of virtue. Although the individual may for a time seem to outwardly decline in their practices of virtue, they in reality become more virtuous, as they are being virtuous less for the spiritual rewards (ecstasies in the cases of the first night) obtained and more out of a true love for God. It is this purgatory, a purgation of the soul, that brings purity and union with God.
For these type of simple images, it’ll look better if you save it in PNG format.
huh?
I know,I know,I know,I know

He never goes away…we do.
But He surely is hidden…that’s the way He wants it.
He’ll show up in a little Word…a bowl of water… a piece of bread and a sip of wine.
That’s it.
You want a God floor show…you’ll have to tune into a TBN broadcast.
Why would He want to be hidden? What’s the point of that?
