  1. I have a painting like this, to do one day. Sketch presently.

  2. He knows we are broken. He knows what we are. He knows that we really don’t want Him.

So…He breaks His own body and gives it …TO US!

What an awesome God we have.

  3. Those little words in the English language carry a lot of weight–broken for you, broken with you, broken in you, broken by you…Sometimes I wish this whole Christianity thing was easier.

  4. ttm,

“…Sometimes I wish this whole Christianity thing was easier.”

Me too. But somehow I think ‘broken for you’ is as easy as it’s gonna get.

Actually, in a way it is very easy…we don’t have to do anything to merit His forgiveness…but on the other hand, it’s awfully tough to believe that.

And then there is the matter of our not escaping the cross, either.

    It’s not easy…but what’s the alternantive?

  5. Steve, Good question. I don’t have an answer. To me the cartoon didn’t imply Christ’s brokenness for us but the church’s brokenness “for him.” That kind of brokenness is painful and confusing and leaves me wanting the “easy” button. Thelogically, you’re probably right. Practically, I’m still a hunk of flesh on the floor, with a “what’s the alternative?” bandaid slapped onto a piece of flesh that is hemorrhaging too much to allow it to stick…Sorry. I appreciate your first aid, though.

  6. Is it me, or this is not biblical…
