Not entirely untrue. Most of us are standing where he is.

Sir Isaac Newton said that “If I have seen further it is by standing on ye shoulders of Giants.”

Christianity is where it is now, because of the blood and sweat of the martyrs. And they did not do this out of coercion, nor force, but had willingly gave up their lives for their beloved Church.

We have our predecessors to thank for not needing to fear that someone would put a bullet in our head every time we show ourselves as Christians.

(Tho I’m pretty sure David is actually referring to something totally different.)

is that the heap of naive people or stupid people? naivety can be recovered from, so it must be the heap of stupid people. stupidity is surrendering one’s own competence to another and losing everything. i find myself hating the victor but i don’t want to hate myself. where do i end and what do i want to be? — confessions of a 20-year-old.
