It’s not the size of the steeple, it’s the motion of the, uh, devotion.

    Bwa ha haaa haaa!
    hee hee hee
    ho ho…

    ahem… ROTFLMAO. (pardon my non-lol-speak)

You know, I have SEEN people behave this way. Such silly little minds some of us Christians have, eh?
“My God-Box is Bigger than YOUR God-Box!”
“Oh yeah? Well, OUR God-Box has REAL BELLS in the tower!”
“Oh YEAH?? Well, OUR God-Box’s Organ Grinder hasn’t retired yet! HA!”
“Oh YEAH??? Well, OUR God-Box’s Pews and Windows are REGISTERED HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS!!! Take THAT!”

    silly. sad. true.
…well, they say we laugh and cry about the same things. :-)

    Luv,
    MaMaQ

The higher and stronger we build our edifices (our Christian performance included?)…the closer we get to Heaven…right?

    (tower of Babel anyone?)

We meet in a basement. The implications are, um, disturbing.

I am taking a class on the art of the High Renaissance in Italy right now. The New St. Peter’s was built partially because of the Reformation. “Take that, Protestants! Ah-HA! Our church is the biggest in the WORLD!” St. Peter’s has nothing on some of these mega-churches in America. Well, in terms of size. It has a lot of things that are better. I am thinking that much of the world’s greatest art is located there. OK, OK, it is way better than those mega-churches. Nonetheless, a lot of people go to the mega-churches.

This is pretty funny, and sadly true. A friend told me the story of how the gigantic new megachurch in our town got built. Apparently, a very wealthy man was going to Baptist Church A. He got upset with that church (don’t know the details there) and moved to Baptist Church B. At the time, A was the biggest Baptist Church in town, so he gave a huge bunch of money to B to build a new church, and now they’re the biggest.

I’m absolutely certain that there can be only one literal meaning for this cartoon, right? :)

This is what is commonly referred to as a churchpenis competition. Or a “chenis” competition if you prefer.

You can see the creation story of the chenis by clicking here:
