I am taking a class on the art of the High Renaissance in Italy right now. The New St. Peter’s was built partially because of the Reformation. “Take that, Protestants! Ah-HA! Our church is the biggest in the WORLD!” St. Peter’s has nothing on some of these mega-churches in America. Well, in terms of size. It has a lot of things that are better. I am thinking that much of the world’s greatest art is located there. OK, OK, it is way better than those mega-churches. Nonetheless, a lot of people go to the mega-churches.
….at least they were both erected….and are still….STAMINA!!!
actually….one’s up the road and the other’s down. but which end of the street is up? down? that doesn’t matter. the better church is the one who Rocks it best!

This is pretty funny, and sadly true. A friend told me the story of how the gigantic new megachurch in our town got built. Apparently, a very wealthy man was going to Baptist Church A. He got upset with that church (don’t know the details there) and moved to Baptist Church B. At the time, A was the biggest Baptist Church in town, so he gave a huge bunch of money to B to build a new church, and now they’re the biggest.
I’m absolutely certain that there can be only one literal meaning for this cartoon, right?
