The Wikiklesia Project Update

July 10, 2007  |  technology, thought  |

wikicoversm.jpgI am pleased and excited to have been invited to participate in the Wikiklesia Project by submitting a chapter on the impact of technology on the church. The Project has announced July 23, 2007 as the release date for Volume One:

Voices of the Virtual World: Participative Technology and the Ecclesial Revolution

On this date, an e-book version will become available for purchase at LULU.com, and perhaps other e-booksellers. A press release was announced today, and is available HERE. A community forum has been created HERE.

A print edition of the book will become available sometime after the virtual release. Volume One of the Wikiklesia Project explores spirituality contextualized within a culture of increasingly immersive technology. The book is an anthology of over forty writers drawn from a wide spectrum of disciplines and perspectives.

After many hours of laboring over a chapter, I finally submitted it on time along with around 40 other contributors. It looks to be a very intriguing collaboration of a variety of interesting voices from around the world. Remember from this post that all the profits go to NOT FOR SALE, a project dedicated to eradicating human slavery in the world in our lifetime.

Contributions to nakedpastor are greatly appreciated.

  1. If we can end human slavery on this planet – we better start with an awareness campaign of how many large businesses cnotribute to this delinquency on other countires (ex: sweat shop labour). It’s a big issue but I like the idea a spiritual community wants to try tackle it – I am in all the way!
