the importance of solitude

man in northern lights night

Being alone is important. Solitude is necessary. Find it. Make it happen.

My most fruitful times are outside at night, any time of year. These are the times I feel the expansiveness of the universe and the All that fills it.

You can buy a print of this painting of mine in my online gallery.

I would suggest that the normal dreadfully sane every-person in our time and place is fundamentally incapable of residing in the condition of noise and stimulus free condition of solitude.

Evidence of this is the now documented fact of Nomophodia, or the condition of existential panic when one has either lost ones mobile phone or is a mobile phone “dead” zone.

Dusk does it for me. This picture looks almost like the northern lights, an amazing, wondrous beauty.

I love your solitude paintings. They draw me in and I feel apart of it.
