HEEL or you get the flip side…..HELL. Lived with that threat for way too many years!

Good one David…so glad I slipped the rope!

This morning I see trying to keep Jesus on a lead. Got to give Jesus the lead…a rope doesn’t cut it though….it’s got to be heart to heart. I am reminded of the hymn “Lead Kindly Light amid the encircling gloom, Lead Thou me on.”

He’s better trained than that…he now rolls over and plays dead.

    David, I can’t help myself — I need help
Seeing your post’s title gave me a completely different image. Your cartoon tells of a constrained Jesus, I drew a much more liberated Jesus on my blog — perhaps this is one of the many reasons he is roped in.
    Hope you mind my borrowings.

Whooops, sorry, that was a typo. I meant to write: “Hope you DON’T mind my borrowings.” Funny slip.
    Thanx

The funny part is that the leash is all the divine attributes people give Jesus. By making Jesus God-like and by putting Jesus on a spiritual pedestal, we don’t have to be bothered by Jesus as an example for how we are to live. We get to be pious without being faithful. It’s a really good trick.
