Carry Me

This is a song I wrote and our worship band recorded a few years ago. It sort of describes how I'm feeling right now. Being carried isn't such a bad thing. The line that's hitting me right now is: "Clear from my hearing the challenging noise of all my distractions and counterfeit joys." It shows that I have a bit of a country/ bluegrass/ Celtic side to me. Enjoy! (oh… the background singer is my wonderful friend Ellen).

I loved it. I go early to the Church on Sunday mornings and turn on Newsboys, Casting Crowns and others way loud, and just worship the Lord. Your song is one that I would play often.

You have truly been blessed by God with many talents.

Great song. And a reminder to me of how badly I allow myself to be carried. As the song played, I was thinking of a time when I was a young teenager at a family reunion. A distant cousin was picking up people and throwing them into the pool. At one point he came to me, and picked me up and carried me to the edge of the pool. Trouble was… I didn’t want to be carried, much less thrown into the pool. I thrashed and thrashed until we reached poolside, and my struggle released me from his arms, onto the concrete edge of the pool before slipping in the water. Very painful experience. Am thinking now that nothing much has changed. I have not learned to allow God to simply carry me, without the drama.

    Ouch.
    Thank you…

I’m glad you’re letting yourself be carried.

Let your friends take care of you.

    Love,

    Sarah

Hey, love this song, have since the first time i heard it, even before it was on the cd
It’s one of the things that got me through my mum’s short illness and death, i used to sing it to her during the night watches through my tears, until HE did come and carry her home. of course it didn’t sound as good as you two do.
    love you, love the song.
