As a continuation of the post I did yesterday on science and religion and the heat that is rising between them, I want to thank Dr. King who sent this link to me
from the New York Times concerning science and religion. Very interesting! Harris and Dawkins make their appearance again, but this time received a rebuke from a fellow-scientist:
“His response to Mr. Harris and Dr. Dawkins was scathing. ‘I think that you and Richard are remarkably apt mirror images of the extremists on the other side,’ he said, ‘and that you generate more fear and hatred of science.‘”

My name is David Hayward, and I am the nakedpastor. I am a graffiti artist on the walls of religion.

“She tells lies, and she stirs up all sorts of mischief and she’s getting on, and she may not have that much life left in her, but she was beautiful once,†he lamented. “When she’s gone, we may miss her.â€
It is sad when people’s hearts are so harden and empty that they believe everyone else MUST feel the same way. If they see “religion” and faith as things goneby, then they are only seeing what they want to see. From where I’m standing faith only seems to be gathering speed. I love chatting with these guys when they say, “what about all of the contradictions in the bible, huh, huh”? Then I ask them how they are so possesive of the “truth” of scientific law, when the solar system we live in breaks a few of them. Then I bring up the law of angular momentum and they usually leave the room. I just want them to admit that science doesn’t have all of the answers. I don’t think that is too much to ask.
the anger is aroused because it is believed that religion has NONE of the answers. as torrance said, science tries to answer the how, while religion tries to answer the why
It is such a blessing when you get to be there when these folks want to ask why. I have no answers, but know a great book that does.
